Toss Up Tuesday! Fanficton
This Tuesday’s Toss Up is Fanfiction! This story is entitled Through Another’s Eyes by Lost in the Stars; a Peeta POV.
“Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor!” She says with a lot of fake enthusiasm (or is it real?). Either way she’s pretty creepy if you ask me. Her hair is now off center a little bit, which leads me to think it’s a wig. After righting it she then proceeds to tell us what an honor it is to be here. Yeah right. It’s pretty obvious she’s wished to be in another district since they first landed her with ours. Some district who actually wins now and again.
I notice Gale. He’s staring in my direction, and I turn to see that he is looking at Katniss, and she is staring back. They seem to be talking silently. They’re faces identical masks of worry for the other, and I’m hit suddenly with a wave of jealously. She’ll never look at me like that, my thoughts rage. I’m so deep in my sudden despair that I barely notice that Effie Trinket is now digging around in the girl’s bowl. I come back to reality just as she walks back to the podium. She clears her throat and announces in a loud, cheerfully happy voice: “Primrose Everdeen.”
For all of one second, I rejoice in the fact that it’s not Katniss. Then one second later it hits me. Primrose Everdeen. No! NO! This cannot be happening! I cannot believe it. This will kill Katniss, she won’t be able to watch her sister die.
I look over at her, she’s frozen in shock, her face would be comical if it wasn’t this situation; she appears almost winded. “Prim!“ She shouts, then possessed by shock and grief, she streaks past me, and shoves her sister behind her. Then I hear the words that make my world fall broken around me. “I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute!”

Catching Fire Picks Up Yet Another Rave Review!
Rock it SUZY!
There are few series that are so compelling from the first novel that they leave a reader distractedly thinking about the future of the characters. Scott Westerfeld’s Uglies comes to mind, as does Cassandra Clare’s The Mortal Instruments. Perhaps not coincidentally, these stories contain strong female protagonists, much like Katniss Everdeen of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games.

MTV covers Hunger Games
MTV’s Hollywood Crush gives us an article about The Hunger Games and it’s Sequel “Catching Fire.
“It seems rather silly to add my two cents of praise to a book that’s been 1) acclaimed by Stephenie Meyer and Stephen King, not to mention a whole lot of other book reviewers; 2) snatched up by Lionsgate to be made into a movie, written by its very author; and 3) sitting in the New York Times best-seller list for 48 weeks. I’ll just say that if you haven’t yet read Suzanne Collins’ “Hunger Games,” then I’m kind of jealous of you. You get to discover the dark, post-apocalyptic world of Katniss Everdeen and then jump right into “Catching Fire,” the second book in the trilogy, as soon as it comes out on September 1.”
