Give MTV’s Sabrina your two cents on “Who should be cast in the Hunger Games Movie”.
The mood of “Catching Fire” is definitely more stressful and less empowering than “Hunger Games.” Though she finds unexpected allies along the way, Katniss seems to be utterly without hope of her own, or her family’s, survival. But her journey is no less compelling, because we, at least, know that she’ll live for book three. And judging by this book’s agonizing cliffhanger, the next installment will be one hell of a ride.

I honestly think that I should play Katniss. I’m not kidding at all… I am an actress and if you dyed my hair I could look a lot like her.
I agree that Alan Rickman should play President Snow or someone on the bad side.
I don’t exactly know who should play Peeta, because Peeta is just all out perfect. But I would pick someone with boy long hair and the brightest blue eyes possible.
I think Dakota Fanning could make it as Prim. She still looks pretty young and you never know when a make-up can make some people look even younger.

I can totally see somebody like Henry Gibson as President Snow.
I think they should get “new” people for all of the kids in the game [like they did for Narnia] Then for people like Haymitch, Effie, President Snow, Cinna, etc. get well known people or something like. If you get people for Katniss, Peeta etc. that people know it’ll throw off the movie and people will go for the actors/actresses not the love of the book or storyline.
Katniss – Victoria Justice. She looks a lot more mature now than when she was on that stupid Nick show. She just looks like Katniss to me.

I reckon that jack nicholson would be alright has haymitch. Because Jack has that “drunk and might be violent. Be careful” thing about him. Not that Jack Nicholson is a drunk. He’s actually pretty cool.
And as for Katniss: I think they should find someone new – not a celeb – to play her. Because then it won’t annoy anyone that is a fan of the book if they choose someone like Vanessa Hudgens or someone to play Katniss. That would just be moritfying.
Cameron Bright wouldn’t be bad as Gale. If they gave him blonde hair he’d be good for Peeta too. Either way.
But yeah, unknowns would be good for the other roles.
I fully support Alex Pettyfer as Peeta. He is exactly how I imagined Peeta but he might also bring a negative image towards the movie being a controversial person.
Alan Rickman doesn’t seem so bad for President Snow but he does look too nice to play such an evil part…or maybe I’m just too partial towards him.
After reading the other comments, though, I support the major opinion that they should have new actors play these parts because, personally, I enjoy movies better when Idon’t recognize the characters.
Annasophia Robb is too innocent and childish looking to play such a strong role as Katniss. Can you imagine her going around killing people?

Definitely seconding the “new faces” for the kids. Though, I do think Ivana Baquero (as Ofelia from “Pan’s Labyrinth”) is the spitting image of Rue.
Hugh Laurie should play Haymitch… He has that general sort of character down with House, all he would have to do is put on some weight!
Johnny Depp would be great as Caesar Flickerman. He works well with excessive makeup and alterations (a la Willy Wonka), very Capitol. (As for Venia, Octavia and Flavius, well… they should probably be computer-generated.)
When I think of Cinna, I get definite Neil Patrick Harris vibes. But that’s all from me.
I also like the idea of new actors for some of the bigger parts. For a character like Haymitch though, I think Robert Downey Jr. would be good. Caesar Flickerman should be played by James Marsden. After reading some comments I think Neil Patrick Harris would be a great Cinna. I suppose if they had to choose more well known celebrities to play parts like Katniss or Peeta, I would choose Missy Peregrym or Charlie hunnam.
Andriane Eleni Rellou is exactly how I imagined Katniss! She’s just like katniss in my imagination…

I personally think that Anna sophia rob would play the role of Rue better than Katniss. Why might you ask? I visualize Katniss as an athelete, and Annasophia is not the first image that pops into my head. On the other hand, she would make a great Rue because she is pettiet but yet mentally strong.
Anna Sophia Rob is soooooo not right for Katniss. She doesnt fit the part. And She can’t make a good rue cause rue has a different skintone and characteristics and she is 12, not 16 like Anna Sophia Rob.
I agree with the choices of the people above me,but they have all (unless 1) picked really older people than they should for the characters.
I think Kaitlyn Mantia would play the perfect role for Katniss. They both have dark brown hair and steel blue eyes..
Also, I just found out that Kaitlyn Mantia is sixteen.. the same age as Katniss. She would’nt be a twenty year old trying to play the part of a teenager, im just saying

Idk..I was looking at Kaitlyns facebook pics ans she looks the right age. I can definately picture her beating somebody up copmpared to Anna Sophia Rob. Anna just seems too inocent. And I agree with Jaime’s comment

For all you people who said that Anna Sophia Robb cannot be hardcore go watch the Reaping because she’s alot better than choices like Megan fox or someone with no experience. I’ve see a pic of her and she is a really good actor. It doesn’t matter if she doesnt look the part right away, that’s why they have somthing called…make up she’s not too young or old and she is perfectly the right katniss. Clearly you people aren’t looking into the acting chops. AND ARE YOU KIDDING ME lucus til omfg no way. Alex pettifer is a thousand times better and Sterling knight is my next choice. Plus I’ve already herd that Suzanne Collins is a big fan of Anna sophia robb because of her role in the reaping. She said it in an interview when they asked her about her picks for katniss. I didn’t even like anna sophia robb until I watched some of her movies. She’s a good actor and I can see her as katniss. I’ve already seen it.:)
