Kaya Scodelario, ever since I saw her, is my Katniss!! She would be fantastic!! =] As a second I would choose Nina!

i think nina is too old. kaya is the bestest choice for me. demi is just totally off. alexandra is not petite enough.emma is too girly and same with the first girl (i forget her name.) they are more like victims, not leaders. KAYA ALL THE WAY!! or an umdiscovered actress (ahem me!!)

I’d love an undiscovered actress to play Katniss But if I had to pick out of all them… Hmm… Let’s review the poll. Most of it seems accurate to me. But it is beyond me how Demi Lovato is on the list. She’s super talented but she’s not Katniss to me. x]
All of the girls on here have been in a TV Show or Book based on a popular book except for Kaya & Demi (I believe). How ironic.
Saoirse Ronan – I don’t understand how she has so many votes… but I wouldn’t die if she got the role.
Demi Lovato – Why is she on the list? o_o Love her. Don’t see her as Katniss though.
Nina Dobrev – She’s got Vampire Diaries. What more could she ask for? Haha. She’d be okay. Her face looks pretty mature. I wouldn’t mind.
Alexandra Daddario – My third favorite possible choice. My second favorite would be an unknown actress.
Kaya Scodelario – Absolutely, hands-down my favorite known choice.
Emma Watson – Hmm.. she’s a bit too well known to me. I’ve never thought of her as Katniss but she wouldn’t be too bad

Fans are just picking actresses who look the part of Katniss (ie-dark hair). But maybe consider the fact that the girl who will play Katniss can have hair that doesn’t have to be dark brown. Whoever is chosen for Katniss can die her hair or wear a wig (like in Twilight) to look the part. I think people should look more at the facial appearances of their “Katniss choices” and not just at the hair color. Also, Many people think that Katniss should be played by someone who is in their early 20?s. Remember, in the beginning, Katniss is only around 16, and she’s pretty young. Throughout the books, she matures and becomes stronger. If an older girl plays Katniss, it will ruin the movie and she will look older than the character’s real age. I THINK THAT KATNISS SHOULD BE PLAYED BY AN UNDISCOVERED ACTRESS AND SOMEONE WHO IS NEW TO THE INDUSTRY (probably age 15 right now)

Kaya?! Unless she can pull off a Southern accent, I don’t think she’d be right for the part. Well, she could pull off Katniss’s look I suppose. The closest resemblance in my head of Katniss is Alexandra (sans heavy makeup, of course).

What are Emma Watson and Saoirse Ronan even doing on that list?

They’re ALL terrible choices. I love Saoirse Ronan and Emma Watson, they are both great actresses, but Saoirse is Irish and Emma is English, so neither of them would work. And I know that Saoirse’s American accent is flawless, but I doubt she could pull off a believable Southern accent. As for all the rest of those girls, HELL NO to ALL of them.

I agree with those who have said before, we need a previously-undiscovered, talented young actress for Katniss.

I agree with all of the people who want an undiscovered actress. The Hunger Games needs some fresh talent all to its own!
ilovepeeta, Suzanne Collins told us that she has a southern accent. She uses the accent when she reads the first chapter of Mockingjay, which you can find online.

I agree that it should be someone kinda undiscovered… but kaya isnt all that famouse… she’s kinda like Kristen Stewart Before Twilight.

I dont really want a Movie at all….. it’s goning to ruin everyones picture.. and we’ll all have the same image instead of our own individual ones.

I kind of think Alexandra would be good – we already know she looks bad a$$ with weapons from Percy Jackson.

On a side note, I’ve been hearing on other fansites that people are calling for Miley Cyrus or Kristen Stewart to play Katniss. Seriously? No. As much as I adore these books, if EITHER of those girls were cast, I would not be able to sit through the films. Sorry.

I love kaya as katniss! I j’adore emma watson, and she does a good hermione, but nawt for katniss. alexandra did a terrible annabeth (the movie was overall terrible)and demi has done too much cheesy disney acting to have the experience for this movie. kaya all the way!

(has been in action movie Stormriders, sweetie pie, hot hot hot, fits the town look… although I can’t say if he’s a good actor or not)

Gale Hawthorne – Orlando Bloom or Drew Roy
(OB has been in plenty of action movies, amazing actor, incredibly good looking which fits Gale, has the seam look if he has gray contacts, fits the look)

Haymitch – Hugh Laurie!
(PERFECT look, great actor, old, can have the sleezy, drunken Haymitch look)

Katniss – Kaya Scodelario or Alexandra Daddario
Peeta – Alex Pettyfer (but seen others, just don’t know their names)
