Other Books and Reviews
I wanted to setup this page because honestly as much as I love The Hunger Games Series, there are lots of other great book out there!
These are all just reviews and suggestions by myself or other guests or staff members. Hope some of these titles can fill the void well we wait for Book Three!

Need
by Carrie Jones
I’m not sure how to review this one without making it sound silly. So I’ll try to keep it short.
Zara moves to a snowy, small town in Maine after her father’s death. She’s a bit different from all the picture perfect girls in her new school; aside from her one jockish tendency. (Yes, I know jockish is not really a word.) Zara also finds herself in the admiration of Nick, a James Dean of swoon.
Well all the swooning is happening a mysterious guy roams the streets stealing teenage boys and leaving Zara little piles of Gold dust. Yes, seriously gold dust.
Sarcasm aside, Carrie Jones has crafted an enjoyable, quirky and sometimes frightening tale. This is one I will read again and wait patiently for the second installment, Captivate, which hits shelves January 2010.

Wake Series
by Lisa McMann
Janie has spent the last several years dreaming other people’s dreams. This hits her whenever she is near someone sleeping, and she gets sucked into their highest hopes or their darkest nightmares. Janie has found a way to deal with her “issue” and seems fine until someone’s dreams become too dark even for her to image. She finds herself haunted by the mysterious persons dreams and sets out to discover who they belong to.
Book two, Fade, picks up right where we left off in Wake. After finding out, she can help others through their dreams she is asked by the police to aid in catching a sexual predator targeting teenage girls. Janie and her boyfriend have trouble finding common ground when Janie is made a target.
I really love this series, so much so, that I should start a fansite for it. I applaud Lisa for her debut work and can’t wait for what she will write in the future. Don’t let the books average page count of 200 pages mislead you; you will be immersed in some of the most original writing style and imagery. The next installment should hit shelves sometime in February 2010.
More reviews to come Soon!
